Colbert County – On Saturday Jan. 16, a single vessel boating accident occurred on Pickwick Lake near the Cane Creek area. Three individuals were aboard a flat bottom style boat when it capsized, tossing all three in the water. Dennis Glenn, 68, of Florence, John Melville, 42, and Mr. Melville’s six-year-old son, both of Marietta, Georgia, were aboard the vessel. Melville and his son were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. Glenn was pronounced deceased at the scene. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Marine Patrol Division continue to investigate.
