NEW MARKET – Weston Kirk connected on a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 14 points, but they weren’t enough to lead the Spring Garden Panthers at Class 6A Buckhorn in boys basketball action on Thursday night. The Panthers fell by the final of 58-38.
Kirk also collected three rebounds, two blocks, a steal and an assist for the Panthers (11-4). Cooper Austin added 10 points, four steals, two assists, two rebounds and a block. Chaz Pope posted seven points, eight rebounds, four blocks, two steals and an assist. Cam Welsh finished with five points, two rebounds and a block.
The two teams play again tonight at Spring Garden at 6 p.m.
