A 23 year old woman was fatally injured in Floyd County, Georgia on Monday of this week – that, following a collision with an 18-wheeler in Armuchee.
Reports say Shelby Dowdy was traveling south on Floyd Springs Road, when she, according to a witness, failed to stop at the stop sign on Highway 156, and as a result her 2020 Toyota Corolla was struck by the tractor trailer around 8:00am.
According to the Georgia State Patrol report, Dowdy’s vehicle rotated clockwise and left the roadway. The tractor-trailer also left the road and went into a large ditch coming to rest on the passenger side after rolling. The driver, 51 year old Kenneth Craig of Lafayette, Georgia was transported to Floyd Medical Center for treatment.
