Peggy Elaine Houck Free, age 73, passed away peacefully at her home, Tuesday January 5th 2021, after a long battle with cancer to return to her heavenly home.
A graveside service will be held Friday, January 8th, 2021 at 1 PM at Hebron Cemetery with Bro. Micheal Maddox officiating.
Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be nephews.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Donnie Free; sons, Greg (Melissa Middleton) Cothran of Norcross, GA. and Larry (Heather Maise) Cothran of Centre; daughter, Mandy (Scott) Hunter of Centre; grandchildren, Taylar Cothran, Abby (Austin) McCullough, Josh (Peyton Russell) Cothran, Cory Cothran, Savannah Cothran, Kayleigh Hunter, Kenzie Hunter; great grandson, Bennett McCullough.
She was born March 7, 1947 in Piedmont, Al. to the late L. E. and Burnese Morgan Houck. Peggy graduated in the Piedmont High School Class of 1963. She was a lifelong seamstress until retiring to help raise her beloved grandchildren. Later in life, she took on the job of church secretary at her home church, Piedmont First Baptist. Peggy was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County, Alabama. Her memory will be cherished by her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. Her family was the center of her life. Her interest included daily bible reading, spending time with her family, reading, puzzles, making crafts and sewing.
