Spring Garden boys pull away from Bowdon, Ga.

SPRING GARDEN – Ryley Kirk led four Spring Garden Panthers in double figures in a 79-67 boys basketball win over Bowdon, Ga., on Monday.

Kirk collected 18 points, including three 3-pointers, for the Panthers (10-3). He also had five rebounds, three steals, two assists and a blocked shot.

Cooper Austin connected on a pair of treys and had 17 points to go along with 12 boards, five assists, four blocks and a steal. Chaz Pope also had two 3-pointers and contributed 15 points to go along with nine rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot. Cam Welsh came away with 12 points, three boards and two steals.

Weston Kirk contributed eight points, eight rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block. Luke Welsh finished with five points and a pair of rebounds.

Spring Garden built a 25-12 advantage at the end of the first quarter and led 40-30 at halftime. Bowdon managed to cut the Panther lead to 56-51 at the end of the third quarter, but Spring Garden closed out the game on a 23-16 run in the fourth for the final.

Spring Garden travels to Cleburne County on Tuesday.
