WEIS Radio News reported on Sunday that a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on New Year’s Day.
According to Piedmont Police Chief Freddie Norton, officers with the Piedmont Police Department responded to a traffic accident on US Hwy 278 West involving a pedestrian being struck.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident and was identified as 81 year old Donald Lee Crumbley of Piedmont AL. The accident is still under investigation at this time.
