Graveside service for Claude Henry Johnson, 73, of Centre will be Tuesday,
December 29, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memory Gardens with Dr. Mark
Green and the Rev. Gary Hardin officiating. Claude passed away Monday,
December 28, 2020 at Floyd Medical Center.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Belynda Johnson; son, Jamey Johnson (Johnette) of Centre; daughter, Julie Graves (Jake) of Centre; and five grandchildren, Jacob Graves, Claudia Graves, Logan Balandrin, Carmen Blackman (Seth), and Casey
Rogers.
Pallbearers will be Logan Balandrin, Seth Blackman, Jacob Graves,
Jake Graves, Johnathan Grey, Brad Johnson, Blake Johnson, Marc Johnson,
Casey Rogers, James Sewell, Wesley Thompson, Chad Wynn, Charles Wynn, and
Paul Wynn.
Claude was a native and lifelong resident of Centre and a 1964
graduate of Cherokee County High School. He was employed at Va-do Fabrics
for 47 years, where he retired as plant manager. He served on the Cherokee
County Board of Education and the Centre Housing Authority Board. He was
An avid supporter of the Cherokee County Warriors and the Auburn Tigers. He
enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, playing golf, and spending time with his
family on Billy Goat Hill. He was a loving a husband, father, and
grandfather. Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Hal and Elizabeth Johnson.
