
GAYLESVILLE – Nas Diamond netted 21 points to help the Cherokee County Warriors earn a 63-54 victory over Collinsville in the Cherokee Basketball Invitational at Gaylesville on Tuesday.
Connor Elrod collected 16 points for the Warriors. Slade Alexander added 12 points and Jack Amos finished with five points.
Colton Wills led Collinsville with a game-high 23 points, including five 3-pointers. Malachi Orr came away with 15 points, including a pair of treys. Billy Briggs finished with nine points.
The two teams were tied at 10 after one, and Collinsville held a 20-18 advantage at halftime. The Warriors went on a 21-8 run in the third quarter to take a 39-28 lead and held on down the stretch for the final.
Chattooga, Ga. 81, Cedar Bluff 25
GAYLESVILLE – LA Riley scored a game-high 23 points in leading the Chattooga Indians to an 81-25 boys basketball victory over Cedar Bluff on Tuesday.
The Indians jumped out on a 31-6 first-quarter run to cruise to the win.
Brody Mobbs, Damien Smith and Cash Allen each netted 12 points. Mobbs connected on three 3-pointers. Smith had two treys. Trey Smith had 11 points. Bowden Heathcock finished with eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Jacob Burleson led the Tigers with nine points. Anbre Leek finished with seven points.
B-Team Boys
Spring Garden 47, Sand Rock 37
GAYLESVILLE – D’Angelo Wright scored 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, in lifting the Spring Garden B-Team to a 47-37 win over Sand Rock in the final game of the Cherokee Invitational on Tuesday.
Jacob and John Welsh netted 10 and nine points respectively. Connor Bates finished with eight points.
Logan Crider led Sand Rock with a game-high 17 points including a pair of treys. Benjamin Dale finished with nine points.
Spring Garden led at each of the quarter breaks. The Panthers held a 10-9 edge at the end of the first quarter and stretched their lead out to 28-16 at halftime. Spring Garden held a 38-28 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
