Latest ADPH COVID-19 Data for Cherokee County and Across the State

The Alabama Department of Public Health reported 2,548 new COVID-19 cases in the state on Sunday – that was a significant decline from the previous two days, and more than 1,000 fewer cases than the state’s current 7-day average.

The state had a total of 322,452 cases since the pandemic began back in March – and a total of 4,389 deaths.  Sunday’s case total was the fourth-lowest single-day total so far this month.  On Friday, Alabama posted more than 5,000 new cases for the first time since the pandemic began, and the state added another 4,221 cases Saturday.  Before October the state had never added 2,500 cases in a day.

The state’s rolling seven-day average for new cases was down slightly on Sunday; that from a record high on Saturday.  It now stands at 3,832 new cases per day.  For reference – that’s roughly twice the rolling average Alabama saw during the state’s summer surge in cases.

Meanwhile, in Cherokee County, according to the ADPH we’ve seen a total of 1,287 cases of COVID-19 since March 13th – 901 confirmed;386 listed as probable.

Countywide we’ve had a total of 23 deaths, with 19 of those confirmed and 4 being listed as probable.
