Imogean Henson Jennings, age 95, passed away peacefully December 11, 2020 in her adopted hometown of Enterprise, Alabama.   She was born June 22, 1925 in Bridgeport, Alabama to W.A. and Fannie Belle Henson.  She met and married her longtime friend and love, Silas Kelsie Jennings in 1949 who preceded her in death in 2001.  

Imogean and Silas owned a dairy farm in Cherokee County, Alabama and spent many wonderful years raising children and dairy cows.  Imogean loved her family, gardening and cooking.  One of her favorite things was growing vegetables and sunflowers in her large garden, sharing time and cooking for her family.  She also enjoyed painting, decoupage and all things Shirley Temple.

Imogean treasured the time she spent with her family, which included a twin sister and 7 other siblings.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Jennings, four brothers, Fred, Roy, Alton and Abbott Henson, and her sisters, Beatrice Zefferer, Elmyra Rosser and Unodean Henson.  

Imogean is survived by her two sons, Kelsie Jennings (Nancy) of Enterprise, Al and Regi Jennings (Lynne) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.   She dearly loved her precious grandchildren and would spend hours sharing photos of Jonathan Jennings (Courtney), Allison Jennings Traywick (Trace), Kendall Jennings and Camden Jennings.  She was very proud of her great-grandchildren Mary Mason Jennings, Everett Jennings and Cal Traywick, and her many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, any desired memorials may be made to the Enterprise YMCA, P. O. Box 310700, Enterprise, AL 36330  or the charity of your choice.  The family wishes to express deep appreciation to Dr. Montgomery Peden, the staff of Wynnwood Oaks Assisted Living, Madison Heights Assisted Living and Medical Center Enterprise Hospital for the love and compassionate care that they gave our dear mother.

Please join us celebrating her life on Friday, December 18 at a graveside service at the Cherokee Memory Gardens at 1:00 p.m.
