Centre Elementary School Hosts Open House On Sunday

The faculty and staff of Centre Elementary School hosted an open house event on Sunday afternoon to give the public a first hand look inside the brand new facility.

Centre Elementary School Principal Wes Neyman –

Construction of the facility began in April of 2019. The building features state of the art classroom facilities, a gymnasium which also serves as a certified storm shelter, a new library, cafeteria and new playground area. We had an opportunity to speak with Superintendent of Education Mitchell Guice about the completion of the facility –

Superintendent Elect Mike Welsh said that this is something that the entire community should be extremely proud of –

The original building was constructed in 1929. One of the newer buildings on the back side of the campus will be used to house Pre-K in addition to other programs. The remainder of the original campus will be demolished at a later date.

The project was funded by the county one cent sales tax.
