Spring Garden basketball teams sweep at Glencoe

GLENCOE – Cooper Austin collected 23 points, including three 3-pointers, grabbed six rebounds, had five steals, dished out three assists and blocked three shots in leading the Spring Garden Panthers to a 71-58 basketball victory at Glencoe on Saturday.

Ryley Kirk also sank three treys and had 13 points for the Panthers. He also had six rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks.

Cam Welsh added nine points, three rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block. Luke Welsh contributed eight points, three rebounds, three steals and an assist. Weston Kirk contributed six points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. D’Angelo Wright finished with five points, two rebounds and two steals.

In the girls game, Ace Austin and Sarah Kate McKay both sank a pair of treys and scored 16 points to lead the Lady Panthers to a 68-27 victory.

Ace Austin also had six steals, four rebounds, four assists and two blocks. McKay also managed three assists, two rebounds, a steal and a block.

Lexie Adkison added 13 points, three rebounds, two steals and a block. Neely Welsh came away with 11 points, four steals, three blocks, two rebounds and an assist.

Abbey Steward contributed six points on a pair of treys to go along with three assists, three steals and two blocks. Maggie Jarrett finished with six points, three rebounds and a steal.

Spring Garden travels to Sand Rock on Monday.
