29 Year Old Summerville Man Charged with Murder in Stabbing Death of 15 Year Old

Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader said Thursday the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now assisting his office with the investigation into the stabbing death of a 15 year old boy on Wednesday evening around 7:30.  The incident occurred at a residence on Williams Street in Lyerly, where the victim suffered multiple injuries.  The teenager was transported by Redmond EMS, to Floyd Medical Center in Rome, but he ultimately died from his wounds.

Andy Espinosa, age 29 of a Summerville address, was taken into custody in connection with the incident; he stands charged with one count of murder and with one count of aggravated assault.  Espinosa, according to the initial news release issued by the sheriff – had possibly been in a relationship with the victim’s mother.

According to Sheriff Schrader no additional information is being released at this time.
