GADSDEN – The Sand Rock Wildcats swept a varsity basketball doubleheader on Monday night at Gaston. The Lady Wildcats posted an 82-22 victory while the Wildcat boys earned a 78-32 win.

In the girls game, Katelyn St. Clair led the Lady Wildcats with 17 points, four rebounds, two steals and two assists. McKenna Ballenger added 16 points, including four 3-pointers, to go along with four assists and four steals. Caley Garrett contributed 13 points, three rebounds, three steals and an assist. Makenzi Blackwell collected 11 points, five boards and two steals.

Lanie Henderson had nine points, including three treys, eight rebounds, three assists, three blocks and a steal. Cheyanne Fuqua managed eight points, four steals and three rebounds. Haylee Stansell came away with six points, four boards, four assists and three steals. Maci Brown finished with eight rebounds, two points and a blocked shot.

Reanna Watson led the Lady Bulldogs with 11 points and five rebounds. Tracionna Jones finished with six points and eight boards.

In the boys game, Garyn Sharpe and Jacob St. Clair both netted 16 points. Sharpe also had four steals. Xander Bradley and Cade Ballenger both contributed 12 points. Bradley also had four steals and four blocks. Ballenger added eight steals and five assists.

Benjamin Dale delivered seven points. Michael Justice managed six points and Logan Wood finished with five points.

Nick Lewis topped Gaston with 12 points and six rebounds. Kendall Blackwell added nine points and six boards. Brock Bagley finished with six points.

Both Sand Rock teams are in action tonight at Cedar Bluff beginning with the girls at 5 p.m.
