Little information has been released, however, it has been confirmed that prior to the City of Centre Christmas Parade on Tuesday night, a woman was struck by a vehicle on Main Street and transported by ambulance for treatment of her injuries.
Lineup was scheduled for 5:30pm at DC Gas with the parade scheduled to begin at 6:00. The woman, believed to be a 74 year old resident of Centre, was reportedly hit around 5:20 by a vehicle not involved with the parade. According to the information provided to WEIS Radio, the victim was taken to Floyd Medical Center in Rome by Floyd EMS for treatment of a broken leg.
