Female Airlifted After Apparently Being Thrown From A Vehicle In Centre, Investigation Continues

Very little information has been released by the Centre Police Department concerning an incident occurring in Centre which left a female severely injured, here is what we know.

At approximately 2:10 Saturday afternoon a female was found unconscious at the fishing hole in the parking lot off of the bypass in Centre.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that the female was apparently thrown from a vehicle. The female victim was taken to Floyd/Cherokee Medical Center and airlifted to UAB in Birmingham.

The vehicle was identified as a green Ford suv and a short time later a vehicle matching the description was seen traveling north bound toward Georgia.

Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped the vehicle east of Centre near the Key Community where two individuals were taken into custody

During the investigation, it was determined that the individuals involved had attended a large truck show gathering at the old K-Mart parking lot, a gathering in which hundreds of vehicles were escorted by police off of several different properties following numerous complaints.

We have reached out to the Centre Police Department concerning the incident and will have additional information as it becomes available.
