A two-vehicle accident took place at approximately 6:50 Friday morning, on the outskirts of Centre.

That wreck involved a red Hyundai Accent car, and a black Chevy Silverado pickup pulling a trailer loaded with a boat – both vehicles came to rest in a ditch alongside the Cedar Bluff Road just north of Centre where the four-lane returns to a two-lane stretch of highway.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the mishap which occurred in heavy fog.

  Those responding to the scene included Centre Police and Fire units, Cherokee Rescue Squad and Floyd EMS.
