Alabama Teachers Credit Union is proud to present Mr. Tony Benefield, science teacher at Spring Garden High School, as our November 2020 Teacher of the Month for the Cherokee County area, in partnership with WEIS Radio.
Mr. Benefield was influenced to enter the education field by great teachers he learned from during school. Directly after his senior year, Mr. Benefield entered the Army and then earned his degree. He has been employed as teacher for a total of 18 years, 14 of those years at Spring Garden.
The most rewarding part of his job is working with the kids and making learning entertaining. Mr. Benefield achieves this by utilizing activity-based lessons and labs. He believes the biggest challenges that educators face today are the limitations presented by COVID-19.
Mr. Benefield encourages the community to get involved by letting educators know you care and are behind them.
