GADSDEN – Audrey Green led three Cherokee County Lady Warriors in double figures with 17 points in a 65-40 season-opening basketball victory at Class 6A Southside of Gadsden.

Karlee Perry collected 11 points for the Lady Warriors (1-0). Ella Garmany finished with 10 points.

In boys’ action, Southside claimed a 53-42 win over the Warriors.

Connor Elrod led Cherokee County (0-1) with 19 points, including three 3-pointers. Nas Diamond delivered nine points. Cade Hopper and Slade Alexander both finished with five points.

Chris Lengyel led the Panthers with 18 points. Michael Rich added 14 points.

Both Warrior teams host White Plains on Friday.
