At around 7:00 on Monday morning, firefighters from the Centre, Cedar Bluff and Leesburg departments were dispatched to Centre Elementary School – with reports of smoke coming from the “Special Needs” room; the Cedar Bluff and Leesburg units were called off moments later after Centre Fire Chief Jeremy Lee and members of his department discovered that the source of the “smoke” was actually a heating unit that had apparently kicked-on for the first time – in the process, simply burning off accumulated dust.
