Coming off a 14-8 defensive victory over Westbrook Christian on Friday, the Spring Garden Panthers (6-1) moved up a spot to No. 7 in the latest Class 2A football rankings. The latest poll was released late Tuesday evening.

Spring Garden, which finds itself atop Region 6, hosts rival Sand Rock (3-4) on Friday.

In Class 3A, the Piedmont Bulldogs (6-1) remained at No. 5 following a 48-0 thrashing of Pleasant Valley on Friday. The Bulldogs host rival Hokes Bluff (4-3) this Friday.
