Etowah County Sheriff Jonathan Whorton Recognizes SRO’s

While SRO’s number one priority in schools is crime prevention and safety, these deputies/officers do so much more. They build relationships with students, educate the staff and parents, teach drug prevention, and serve as mentors.

Their most noble contribution is often unknown and unrecognized due to their presence simply being enough to eradicate an issue before escalating to a serious situation. A big thank you to the following School Resource Officer’s:

Altoona: Summer Doran (West End)
Attalla: Officer Tim Diggs (Attalla Schools)
ECSO: Lt Justin Plunkett (SRO Supervisor/ECBOE Central Office)
