COLLINSVILLE – The first time Collinsville played Section this season, defense was the name of the game.
On Friday night in a non-counting rematch, the Panther defense was solid once again, but this time there were a few points put up the offense.
Collinsville limited Section to 12 yards rushing and 53 total yards, while the Panther offense scored four touchdowns in a 28-0 decision.
Malachi Orr rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns on runs of 32 yards and 8 yards for the Panthers (3-2). Both of those scored came in the second quarter, and they gave Collinsville a 14-0 advantage at halftime.
Luke Henderson added a 65-yard scoring run with 8:18 remaining in the third quarter to increase the Panther lead to 21-0. Deon Winsley, who rushed for 61 yards, scored the game’s final touchdown on a 22-yard rush.
Dalton Hughes led all Panther rushers with 77 yards.
Collinsville is scheduled to have a bye this coming Friday. The Panthers will pick up Class 3A, Region 7 play on Oct. 9 at home against Plainview.
