Governor Kay Ivey Will be Visiting Areas Devastated by Hurricane Sally Today

Governor Kay Ivey will be visiting the Alabama coast today (Friday September 18th), as she views damage left by Hurricane Sally, meets with other state officials, and provides updates on recovery efforts.  The governor will start with a helicopter flyover of Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Ft Morgan; that’ll be followed by a closed meeting with state EMA Director Brian Hastings, U.S. Representative Bradley Byrne and other officials including the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources Commissioner, Chris Blankenship.

Ivey will hold a news conference at noon at the Gulf State Park Lodge terrace.

This afternoon, the governor will fly over Dauphin Island, and will follow that with a closed meeting with Hastings, Blankenship, and others.  

A news conference will follow at 3:00 at Dauphin Island City Hall.
