At this point Sally remains a Category 1 storm with 85 mph winds – and is still moving at an extremely low rate of speed – around two miles an hour.

There have been two significant changes:  The storm track has shifted more to the east, and shows the center of Sally moving up into Mobile Bay.

The storm is expected to make landfall late tonight or early Wednesday.

Also the storm surge forecast has decreased – instead of 6 to 9 feet it could be around 4 to 7 feet. The worst surge is now expected along the Alabama coast.  

Forecasters feel that Sally will NOT get any stronger before landfall.
