Lady Warriors fall to Sand Rock, Piedmont on Tuesday

CENTRE – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors dropped a pair of home volleyball matches Tuesday against Sand Rock and Piedmont. They lost 25-7, 25-11 to Sand Rock, then fell to Piedmont 25-11, 25-20.

Ella Garmany collected five digs, a kill and a block against Sand Rock. Madeline Ware added two digs, a kill and a block. Kenzie Hunter and Madison Leonard both posted three digs. Anna Walker had a pair of digs. AK Reyes, Emilie Paul and Crimson Colbert each finished with a dig.

Against Piedmont, Garmany posted 10 kills and a dig. Ware contributed three kills and an ace. Colbert collected four assists and two digs. Hunter had four digs and three assists. Paul posted an ace and a dig. Reyes added a pair of digs. Leonard and Vivian Connell both finished with an assist.

On Monday, the Lady Warriors (1-5) dropped an area match at Jacksonville. The scores were 25-7, 25-9, 25-8.

Ware managed three kills, a block and an assist. Garmany posted three blocks and two kills. Connell came away with two kills. Colbert and Hunter both had a pair of assists. Hunter also had an ace. Walker finished with a kill.

In a tri-match at Fort Payne on Aug. 27, the Lady Warriors defeated Pisgah 22-25, 25-19, 15-11 and fell to Fort Payne 25-12, 25-10.

In the win over Pisgah, Garmany collected 10 kills, three blocks, two digs and an assist. Ware posted six kills, five aces, three blocks, two digs and an assist. Paul came away with three kills, three digs and an ace. Sarai Ray managed 14 assists and a pair of aces. Raegan Tierce tallied three aces, two assists and two digs. Leonard had three digs and a kill. Walker and Connell both contributed a kill and a dig. Hunter had an ace and an assist. Reyes finished with a dig.

In the loss to Fort Payne, Leonard posted 10 digs. Ray added eight assists, a kill, a block and a dig. Garmany contributed four kills and a dig. Ware managed a kill, a dig and a block. Reyes came away with three digs. Hunter had two digs. Paul posted a kill and an ace. Walker finished with a kill and a dig.

Cherokee County travels to Hokes Bluff on Thursday.
