James Robert Atkins age 88 of Cedar Bluff passed away Friday August 28th at Tanner Hospital.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday September 1st at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Howard Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Travis Chapman Jr., Greg Chapman, Timothy Bridges, Jarod Atkins, Logan Atkins, Blake Bridges, Tony Atkins, Chase Chapman, Joshua Chapman and Scott Chapman.
Survivors include sons, Ricky (Teresa) Atkins of Carrollton, Ga. and Todd (Terri) Atkins of Bremen, Ga.; daughters, Kathy (Travis) Chapman of Athens, Al. and Robbie (Donnie Boyce) Bridges of Bremen, Ga.; sister, Dorothy Mitchell of Rome, Ga.; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister.
Mr. Atkins was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late Babe and Annie Battles Atkins.
