A single vehicle crash on Saturday claimed the life of a Powder Springs, Georgia man.
The accident occurred at 4:05 a.m. on Saturday on Interstate 59, two miles north or Reece City.
According to Alabama State Troopers, 59 year old Mark Allan Kalmowitz, wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
The 2020 Peterbilt being driven by Kalmowitz left the roadway, collided with a guardrail and overturned in the median. The passenger was airlifted to the hospital for treatment.
I-59 from southbound Collinsville was shut down for several hours due to the accident
