A Rome man was fatally injured in a two-vehicle accident on Martha Berry Highway at Old Summerville Road early Wednesday morning.
A vehicle being driven by 40-year old Kenneth Sheppard collided with a tractor-trailer near the entrance to Mt. Berry Square Mall around 2:30am. According to Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor, Sheppard was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma to the head and chest.
That wreck remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
