The investigation into a vehicle fire occurring in Cherokee County on Wednesday continues
The vehicle was located on the Gadsden Highway on the Centre side of the Leesburg Bridge, with Centre Police and Fire Department units almost immediately arriving on the scene.
Centre Fire Chief Jeremy Lee informed WEIS Radio that the driver was fine, and had caught a ride home from a family member – Chief Lee also highly commended two members of his department – firefighters Middlebrooks and Rayburn – for their work in putting the fire out so quickly.
He went on to say it appeared the blaze originated in the engine compartment, then burned into the passenger side of the vehicle.
