Alabama Department of Public Health Reports 1,783 New COVID-19 Cases Between Thursday and Friday

The Alabama Department of Public Health reported 1,783 new COVID-19 cases occurring between Thursday and Friday – bringing the total to 85,278 cases, with 1,531 deaths.

Alabama has tested 169,882 people for coronavirus in the last two weeks, and of the recent tests, 21,772 were positive.

As of Friday, there has been 35,401 presumed recoveries statewide.

According to the latest data for Cherokee County – a total of 219 confirmed cases have been reported since March the 13th; another 19 having been listed as “probable” – with a total of seven deaths resulting from the illness and one other listed as “probable” in that category.

Out of a total of 605 tests administered during the past 14 days a total of 65 positive results have been returned locally.

According to the ADPH 41% of Alabama’s coronavirus cases are among those between ages 25 and 49.
