UPDATE| Suspect Barricades Himself Inside A Home As Authorities Attempt To Serve A Warrant

Marshall County Sheriff Phil Sims is asking the public to stay away from the area of Alabama 75 and Alabama 68. Authorities attempted to serve a warrant at a home behind Verlon Painter Motors earlier this morning.
The suspect has now barricaded himself in the home and authorities are attempting to negotiate his surrender.
Multiple law enforcement agencies are on the scene. Alabama 68 has been closed due to this ongoing investigation.

WEIS Radio News has been informed of a situation involving heavy law enforcement presence at a location near Highway 68 in Albertville
A WEIS Radio listener that was in the area reported seeing numerous law enforcement officers and a helicopter at a nearby residence.
We understand that the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office is blocking traffic from entering Highway 68 by Verlon Painter Motors off of Alabama Highway 75 Northbound.
