Cedar Bluff Police Department Issues Statement Regarding Mask Mandate

In response to a lot of questions about whether the Cedar Bluff Police Department will be enforcing the mask mandate, Chief Chris O’Neal issued the following statement on the departments Facebook page.

Cedar Bluff Police Chief Chris O’Neal

“At this time we will NOT be issuing citations for violators. We are asking everyone to please use caution during these stressful times, and we will probably remind people that they are supposed to wear a mask in a particular situation.

Wearing masks is uncomfortable for all of us, but it does seem prudent to stay back 6 ft from each other or wear a mask to try to slow the spread of this virus. Then maybe soon we can get back to- at least closer to- normalcy.

Although we are not writing citations, keep in mind that businesses are privately owned and they may tell you to leave or not enter without a mask. They are just trying to comply with the Governor’s Order and/or their company’s policy. Please respect that.”
