With the upcoming primary run-off election scheduled for Tuesday, July 14th, the Cherokee County Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security would like to remind voters of the importance of wearing a mask while inside your polling place. This is not only to protect you, but to protect those around you. Also, make sure you follow the six-foot social distancing requirement while at your polling place.
Cherokee County EMA Director Shawn Rogers:
Director Rogers added that everyone needs to bear in mind the current Public Health Order does require numerous businesses – including restaurant workers – to wear masks or face coverings that cover the nose and mouth; it’s a criminal offense for an employer to allow an employee to violate the Public Health Order.” Rogers went on to say that an employer can be arrested and charged with violating the Public Health Order, if they fail to follow ALL the requirements of that order.
As a reminder the current Public Health Order is in effect through July 31st.
