Latest Numbers Regarding COVID-19 for Cherokee County from the ADPH

Cherokee County has had five deaths resulting from COVID-19 – that according to the latest information posted on the COVID-19 Data & Surveillance Dashboard issued by the Alabama Department of Public Health.

The Tuesday morning numbers show Cherokee County has thus far, a total of 51 confirmed cases of Coronavirus and two cases considered “probable”, and over the past 14 days a total of 13 positive results have been returned out of the 173 tests administered locally.

Statewide, the cumulative number of confirmed Coronavirus cases has reached 25,892 with 769 deaths being attributed to the illness – meanwhile, the number of presumed recoveries currently stands at 13,508.

According to the statement issued by the Cherokee County (EMA) Emergency Management Agency  “…as we transition from the response to recovery phase of the COVID-19 pandemic the Cherokee County EMA has made a decision to hold news conferences on an ‘as needed’ basis, rather than weekly.”
