Overturned 18 Wheeler Shutsdown A Portion Of 411 North, Driver Uninjured

A portion of Alabama Highway 411 North at County Road 225 was shutdown for several hours while crews worked to cleanup after an 18 wheeler overturned just before 1:30 Thursday afternoon. Fortunately the driver was not injured in the accident. 

According to reports at the scene the truck was only partially loaded with miscellaneous items.

The Spring Creek Fire Department, Cherokee County EMA Officials, ALDOT crews and Alabama State Troopers responded to the scene. The roadway was reopened at around 4:30 p.m.  

Crews also responded after an 18 wheeler brought down power lines between the cab and trailer of the truck on County Road 112 near County Road 520 in the Bay Springs area. Leesburg Firefighters and Cherokee Electric crews responded to the scene.
