Woman Confesses to Stealing From Her Workplace – CVS Pharmacy in Summerville

A Summerville woman has been sentenced to probation and ordered to pay restitution to the pharmacy where she worked for stealing prescription opiods.

Summerville Police were called to investigate after CVS on Rome Boulevard in Summerville discovered a large amount of “Tramadol” missing from their inventory back in 2018.  Tramadol is prescribed to treat moderate to severe pain in adults.

Diane Harper was arrested on December 12th of that year, after police believed that there was enough evidence to indict her on charges of obtaining a controlled substance through fraudulent means.  She was subsequently indicted on those charges and confessed to taking over 900 of the pain pills from the pharmacy.

Harper has been sentenced to four years probation under the First-Time Offenders’ Act and has been ordered to pay restitution to CVS.
