Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Now Over 10,000 Statewide; More than 400 Deaths

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases across the state has topped 10,000, with the data from the ADPH COVID-19 Data and Surveillance Dashboard now showing 10,164 cases, and 403 confirmed deaths resulting from the illness.

According to those latest Alabama Department of Public Health figures – 1,268 individuals have thus far been hospitalized, and the number tested stands at 129,444.

The ADPH also lists Cherokee County as having had a total of 24 confirmed cases out of 417 people being tested.

In surrounding counties confirmed cases are considerably higher than they are locally – but that goes hand-in-hand with a larger number of tests being conducted – however, Cherokee County still has a considerably lower percentage rate than those areas.

DeKalb County has had 158 positive results out of 1,509 tests administered there; while in Etowah County there are 193 confirmed cases following a total of 2,721 tests; and Calhoun County has 125 confirmed cases after a total of 2,300 people being tested.
