On Tuesday, Luanne Hayes, Campus Director at Gadsden State Cherokee and Director of the Cherokee County Industrial Development Authority announced a new program designed to provide relief for some of those hardest-hit during the “Stay-at-Home” order, brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic:

Hayes went on to say that the Cherokee County Small Business Emergency Relief Fund was created to provide much needed, quick assistance to the county’s small businesses—which are the backbone of our economy.

Jason Dawson, Chairman of the CCIDA, summed it up this way, “In a time, unlike anything we have seen, the CCCC and CCIDA are working together to help bridge a gap for our local small business.  This utility relief fund will help businesses that may not have received any assistance through SBA or maybe need a little additional help paying utilities.  The CCCC and CCIDA typically take a “behind the scene” role in helping businesses and industry in our community and creating this fund is no different.  Both organizations are here to help make our businesses, industry and community stronger.  I am proud to be a part of both the CCCC and CCIDA in helping do what we can to help during this trying time”.
