The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state has now reached 6,421 – with a total of 219 confirmed deaths resulting from the illness.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 857 people have been hospitalized thus far, and the number tested stands at 73,717.
Cherokee County currently has 14 confirmed cases out of 135 people having been tested; in DeKalb County there have been 70 positive results out of 876 tests; following 1,061 tests in Etowah County there are 125 confirmed cases; and Calhoun County has 91 confirmed cases after a total of 1,132 people being tested there.
