Number of Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Still Rising in Alabama – Closing in on 6,000

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state has now reached 5,832 – with a total of 197 confirmed deaths resulting from the illness.

According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 768 people have been hospitalized thus far, and the number tested stands at 52,641.

Cherokee County has 12 confirmed cases out of 115 people tested – while in DeKalb County there have been 61 positive results out of 735 people tested; following 866 tests in Etowah County there are 120 confirmed cases and Calhoun County has 88 confirmed cases after a total of 857 people being tested there.
