The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state has now reached 5,610 – with a total of 178 confirmed deaths resulting from the illness.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health – there are currently 201 reported deaths in Alabama – with 23 of those remaining under investigation. 731 people have been hospitalized and the number tested stands at 48,387
Cherokee County has 13 confirmed cases out of 108 people tested – while in DeKalb County there have been 58 positive results out of 650 people tested; following 785 tests in Etowah County there are 116 confirmed cases and Calhoun County has 85 confirmed cases after a total of 820 people being tested there.
