ADPH Confirms 5th Case Of COVID-19 In Cherokee County

The Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed a 5th case of COVID-19 in Cherokee County. The Department of Public Health reports that there have been a total of 44 people tested in Cherokee County with no deaths reported from illness.

Across the area, there are 19 confirmed cases in Calhoun County with 115 tested and no deaths, 10 cases in DeKalb County with 109 tested and no deaths and 21 confirmed cases in Etowah County with 133 tested and two reported deaths, one from illness. 

Statewide there are 1, 515 confirmed cases, 38 reported deaths with 21 of those being from illness and a total of 9, 601 tested. 

Earlier today, Governor Kay Ivey issued a ‘Shelter in Place’ order effective beginning 5:00 p.m. Saturday through April, 30th.
