According to Piedmont Police Chief Freddie Norton, Piedmont Investigators are currently investigating two crimes that happened at the same residence in the 600 Block of South 5th Ave.

The first crime occurred on Saturday, January 25 at around 3:00AM where 2 males forced their way into the residence and both were armed with handguns. A few items were taken from inside the residence before both males left.The second crime occurred on Wednesday January 29th at around 10:20PM.

On this date a vehicle came by the residence and fired several shots at the residence. The residence was struck several times.

The residents were at home at the time the residence was shot. A vehicle that was parked at the residence was also struck.Anyone with any information on either crime is asked to call (256)-447-9091 and speak to Sgt. Nathan Johnson or Inv. Tyler Young.
