Indiana Man Charged with Exposing Himself to Centre Teen Via Facebook Live / Next Court Appearance Set for February

According to a report by AL.COM, an Indiana man allegedly exposed himself to an underage girl using the social video platform FaceTime; James Johnson, age 45, first appeared on law enforcement radar last year here in Centre (Alabama) – where police were in the process of investigating allegations that he was sending inappropriate images to females and minors.

According to court documents, when questioned, Johnson had allegedly admitted to making “several phone calls” of that nature in the past.

He was charged October 1st of last year (2019) in Lake Superior Court with dissemination of matters harmful to minors and possession of child pornography – level 6 felonies.

Hobart Detective Zachary Crawford stated Centre Police contacted their department saying they received information that an unidentified male called an underage girl several times – and made inappropriate displays of body parts.  The victim told police she received a phone call from a man, later identified as Johnson, on July 23rd, according to Centre Detectives.

The victim’s mother learned of the incident and contacted Centre Police.

A reverse telephone lookup found three associated individuals – all living in Lake County – including Johnson.  Once it was determined that Johnson was the owner of the cell phone in question Hobart police were asked to conduct surveillance of his home – eventually making an arrest.  Once in custody Johnson allegedly admitted that he found the girl’s number from an Instagram or Snapchat account.

On Wednesday of this week Johnson was granted a request in court for a continuance in the case.  His next court date is 8:45am February 14th.
