16 Year Old Charged With Capital Murder In Connection To Triple Homicide In Munford

Talladega County District Attorney Steve Giddens confirmed that 16 year old Landon Durham was arrested in Cherokee County in connection with a triple homicide that took place Tuesday night in Munford.

According to the Anniston Star, Talladega County Coroner Shaddix Murphy identified the three victims as Holli Christina Durham, age 36, and her twin sons – Baron Joseph and Branson William Durham, both age 13.

On Wednesday afternoon, Giddens said he believes the teen stabbed his family members to death at the residence on Roy Lackey Lane before he went to school early Tuesday morning.

Giddens said Durham is being charged as an adult in this case, but the death penalty cannot be applied since Durham is younger than 18. He would be facing life with or without parole.

Durham was taken into custody after being stopped  by Cherokee County Investigator Jeremy Stepps just inside the Cherokee County line, near the intersection of Gilley Road and County Road 71 at approximately 7:55am Wednesday.

Durham is currently in the Talladega County Jail.

We’ll continue to follow this story and provide additional updates as more is available.
