The American Red Cross was called in to help a family that was displaced following a house fire in Chattooga County on Saturday afternoon.
The fire was on Dry Creek Road, not far from the Floyd County line, at an older two-story residence. Firefighters with the Subligna, Gore and Summerville Departments all responded to the call which came in shortly before 2:00pm. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control relatively quickly and no injuries were reported.
The family was not at home at the time.
