MONTGOMERY – Governor Kay Ivey and the Alabama Department of Transportation on Thursday announced that $7 million in funding is being awarded to cities and counties for various local road and bridge projects.
In Northeast Alabama, the City of Piedmont will receive $250,000 for resurfacing 7 streets within the City. DeKalb County will receive 0,000 to assist with paving a portion of county road 51 from Alabama 68 to county road 30.
Etowah County will receive $250,000 to assist with paving four streets in the Sardis City Community.
The funding is made available through the Annual Grant Program, a new program created under the Rebuild Alabama Act. The Rebuild Alabama Act requires ALDOT to establish an annual program setting aside million off the top of the state’s share of new gas tax revenue for local road and bridge projects.
