Hazel Ruth Harkness Hobson age 81 of Centre passed away Wednesday January
15th in Huntsville, AL. 

Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday January 19th at Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah’s Witnesses. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 5:30
PM Saturday at the funeral home. 

Survivors include daughter, Denise Versaw of Huntsville; grandchildren,
Stephanie M.  Hithon of Chesterfield, MO and Briana Versaw of Huntsville
and 8,500,000 spiritual brothers and sisters around the world. 

She was preceded in death by her brother, Willie Joe Harkness; sisters,
Roberta Lewis and Mary Louise Harkness; grandson, John E. Hithon III;
half-brothers, Isaac Harkness and Ben Harkness; half-sister, Clara
Jennings. 

Mrs. Hobson was a native of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late
Chuck Ruben and Ida Pearl Harkness. 

She was educated at Hatcher High School in Centre, Alabama, attended
Booker
T. Washington Business College in Birmingham and later graduated from
Nursing School in Birmingham. Throughout her decades of nursing, she
touched many lives during her service at Cherokee County Hospital, Dr.
Eugene H. Bradley’s office and Cherokee County Nursing Home. 

After becoming one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she dedicated her life to
Jehovah for many years and was a faithful servant until the end. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Kingdom Hall or your
favorite charity.
