Alabama State Trooper Fatality Report for Holiday Travel Period Released

Numbers from the Holiday travel period stretching from December 20th to New Year’s Day, have now been released by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency – with the state seeing a slight increase over last year in traffic-related deaths during the same time period.

Alabama State Troopers investigated a total of 22 fatalities over that time period, compared to 21 the year before.  That included ten adults, ten children, one pedestrian, and one riding a motorcycle.  According to troopers, of the 20 people killed while traveling in vehicles that were equipped with seat belts, 14 of them were NOT using seat belts.

The fatal accidents took place in Baldwin, Barbour, Cullman, Dallas, Elmore, Etowah, Henry, Lamar, Mobile, Pickens, Randolph, Russell and Tuscaloosa counties over that 13 day period.
